Because these sights are close to your starting point in Dornoch, the total driving time for the entire loop is only about a hour. This leaves minimal road time and maximises the timeline for an ultra-premium, slow-paced experience at each location.

Leg 1: Dornoch to Loch Fleet — 4.3 miles (~15 minutes)

Morning departure.

The day begins with a morning pick-up in or near Dornoch followed by a short, scenic drive north towards the tidal basin.

09:15 AM – 11:15 AM Wildlife & shoreline walk.

The first stop is a shoreline entry point at the Loch Fleet National Nature Reserve.

A guided 1.5 to 2-hour walk provides ample time to look for the resident seals resting on the sandbanks and view diverse wading bird species.

11:15 AM – 11:30 AM Transit to Golspie.

A brief 15-minute drive carries the tour north along the coast to the historic village of Golspie, passing views of the North Sea along the way.

01:00 PM – 04:30 PM Summit hike & panoramic views.

The afternoon is dedicated to a fully guided trek up Ben Bhraggie to visit the impressive Sutherland Monument.

Budgeting 3.5 hours ensures a relaxed pace for the steep climb up the 397-metre hill and allows guests of varied fitness levels to complete the hike comfortably. At the summit, the sweeping, panoramic views looking back across the Dornoch Firth and out to the North Sea provide an exceptional backdrop to learn about the local history.

Please note that the hike is challenging but immensely rewarding, moving through dense woodland paths before breaking out into open moorland.

04:30 PM – 05:30 PM Après-hike refreshments.

After descending the summit, guests are driven to a luxury lounge or local estate for premium refreshments, local single-malt pairings or afternoon tea in celebration of the day's achievements.

The tour finishes with a relaxing 30-minute chauffeured drive back down the A9, arriving back in Dornoch precisely at the 9-hour mark.
